ABOUT JUSTIN BECKETT

Justin Beckett, is a Canadian Painter, living in Vancouver B.C. Beckett focuses mostly on acrylic landscape paintings, but is also very versatile in many different subjects. He continues to strive everyday for excellence, through study and dedication.

It all started when I was a young child, growing up with an artistic best friend, we spent much of our time exploring comic books, admiring movies and drawing at the kitchen table together under a dim yellowish light. This friendship continued on throughout the years and has continued to this day. I am a completely self taught artist learning through observing life and trial and error. I have always been a creative person, but doing many drawings every night over time you become very good. As I worked my way through my teenage years a whole new world of art opened up for me, discovering new things such as perspective and composition, which I did not even know existed. I browsed through some books and also studied some, but I decided nature was the best teacher. I do one hundred percent believe its important to learn through everything you can, artists, books and life.

Over the years I have adapted my own style, many artists and friends have told me I paint like the Group of Seven, I never even realized until later who they were. To this day I absolutely love painting in the great out-of-doors and plan to take many more trips into the wild for the rest of my life.
